“As a single mother I had sleepless nights about relocating to a new suburb, home and position. But what concerned me most was how my son would adapt to a new school. As all other mothers we only want what’s best for our precious ones.
I recall my first visit to Morning Star as one of the warmest memories which I will treasure for a lifetime. Apart from the most awesome curriculum, I immediately felt a sense of care. With tissues freely handed to me by the Principal, I walked away from our meeting knowing that my little boy was going to be happier than ever.
We were invited to spend as much time as we needed at the school to experience the magic and love of both the staff and the children in attendance. Mere words cannot explain the happy little boy that my son has become. I am still amazed by the difference this school has made.

“Soos seker maar vir almal van ons, was die besluit waar ons eerste spruit haar akademiese loopbaan moet begin beide vreesaanjaend en opwindend. Navorsing is gedoen, boeke is gelees en die ore is uitgeleen aan almal wat wou raad gee maar op die ou end was dit Jenny wat die skool aan ons 'verkoop' het. Ons het gekies en verkies ons Morningstar Montessori omdat:
1. Die Montessori beginsels die beste ingepas het by ons vooropgestelde idees van 'kind grootmaak';
2. Die skool word bestuur met vernuf en die kinders hanteer met sagte discipline;
3. Jenny en elke liewe personeellid is vriendelik, hulpvaardig en uiters besorg oor elke kind in hulle sorg;
4. Elke personeellid ken ook nie net elke kind se naam nie maar ook die ouers s'n.
Ek is oortuig dat my twee spruite wat tans Morningstar bywoon, die beste hupstoot vir die toekoms kry en sal my derde binnekort sy sissies volg en ook Morningstar bywoon.

"Children are taught to be responsible, independent at a young age. The tasks that they do in the classrooms are linked to everyday life experiences. From the tasks, they learn to apply the skills in real like and are able to do things like pouring tea, juice, grating carrots and cheese, washing dishes etc. They are always willing to do things for themselves.

The approach to nutrition in the school is that of promoting good eating habits. Children are introduced to fruit at a young age and they learn to enjoy fruit every day. Children are also encouraged to drink lots of water every day and to avoid fizzy drinks. Sweets, chips, fizzy drinks are not allowed in the school, even during school outings. As a result, fruit is an enjoyable food to them and there is no hassle at home when it comes to eating fruit. Children also benefit from learning good eating habits at a young age.

The curriculum and approach to children builds their confidence and self esteem. As a result, children are free to talk to adults and to express their own views or opinion without fear of punishment. This skill will build young adults who are confident and have a good self esteem.

"Die afgelope twee en 'n half jaar is ons gesin deur ons enigste dogtertjie, Maggie onafskeidbaar aan Morning Star Montessori verbind.
Een van die beste dinge wat met Maggie kon gebeur het was die blootstelling aan die Montessori-metode en haar onderrig by Morning Star. Die kombinasie van die metode en die spesifieke omgewing het tot voordeel dat self-ontwikkeling en selfvertroue op ‘n besondere wyse inslag vind by die kinders aan di้ skool!!
Dit was vir ons ook verstommend hoe Maggie as Afrikaans-sprekende kind binne enkele maande se blootstelling, die tweede taal, Engels kon aanleer.
Maggie funksioneer baie selfstandig en sien in die oggende daarna uit om skool toe te gaan. Ons is telkens verbaas oor die wonderlike dinge wat sy kwytraak en vaardighede wat sy reeds baasgeraak het. As gevolg van die uitstekende resultate wat ons reeds ervaar het met die Montessori-metode sal ons dit ook sterk oorweeg as opsie t.o.v. Maggie se verdere opvoeding.
Deurlopende inligting wat ons van Maggie se onderrig ontvang, maak ons vertroud met die doen en late van die skool. Jenny en haar personeel is toegewyde opvoeders wat altyd tot beskikking is van die kinders asook, ons die ouers. Hulle vriendelike hulpvaardigheid is treffend!!
Ons kan ook vir Jenny komplimenteer in terme van die uiters ho๋ standaard wat sy handhaaf in terme van die voorkoms en netheid van die skool en apperate, die wonderlike kos wat hulle die kleintjies bedien en die rustige, vredevolle atmosfeer by Morning Star!!
Ons voel bevoorreg dat ons saam met Maggie deel kan wees van Morning Star en kan di้ spesiale skool ten hoogste aanbeveel."

"Morning Star Montessori het ‘n groot indruk op ons gemaak , want dit is altyd baie skoon en daar is routine en ‘n goeie ritme wat die kinders handhaaf. Ek glo my kinders floreer onder routine en dat hulle weet wat volgende gaan gebeur. Jenny is soos ‘n ma wat altyd reg staan met raad en/of ondersteuning. Dis lekker om te weet dat die kinders aangemoedig word om dinge self te doen. Onderwysers is betrokke in die kinders se lewens en as daar iets oulik gebeur het of self ‘n probleem is sal hulle nie huiwer om met ons daaroor te gesels nie, en ook bystand te bied oor hoe dit hanteer kan word. Dit maak dat ek my kinders met gemoedsrus in die veilige/ huislike omgewing kan aflaai.
Sune het haar Graad R, 2008 daar klaar gemaak en sy het daar uitgestap met selfvertroue en ‘n houding van :”Ek Kan”.
Milandi (4jr.) is mal oor haar “teacher Cara”. Ons voertuig het nou die dag ‘n snaakse geluid gemaak, baie bekommerd bel ons vir pappa om te hoor of ons maar kan ry. Pappa s^e toe dis reg en ons was oppad Morning Star toe. Vir die meisiekinders was dit groot bekommernis net-nou gebeur daar iets. Toe Milandi skielik afhaak en s^e sy weet wie kan ons voertuig regmaak. Ek vra toe wie en vol vertroue haak sy af my “teacher Cara” sy kan mos alles doen.
